Product Description

Beautiful harmonies! Haunting woodwinds! Stirring guitar and drums! Rude Elizabethan euphemisms! What more could you want? The Wild Oats played their mutated brand of Celtic and original folk at San Diego area coffee houses, science fiction conventions, Renaissance Faires and Society for Creative Anachronism events between 1991 and 2002. Influences on their style included: Silly Wizard, Steeleye Span, the John Renbourn Group, Boiled in Lead, Jolly Beggar, and the Medæval Bæbes. The Oats appeared at the Timeless Fantasies Faire in Fallbrook, the Estrella War near Phoenix (held by the SCA), the twice-yearly Potrero War in eastern San Diego County (also held by the SCA), Comic-Con International, the science-fiction based Con-Dor, and coffee houses Lestat's, JavaBar Garden Cafe, Liza's Cafe and Library, Twiggs Tea and Coffee, (the late lamented) Thomas Paine's Coffeehouse, and Claire de Lune in the Normal Heights, University Heights, and North Park areas of San Diego.
