Made from Hulless Oats grown on our farm in Grundy county Illinois. (see Hulless Oats listing). The oats have never left the farm. It was grown, harvested, cleaned, stored and then cold rolled raw here. They're non-GMO and certified organic. (by Oregon Tilth). I cold roll the raw hulless oats in small batches so what's shipped to you direct from our farm has been rolled recently (see item features for date). They're rolled at a traditional thickness to give an old fashion rolled oatmeal. Notice: Our farm uses some of the same machinery to harvest and handle corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, buckwheat and field peas

I was a little shocked about how big this bag is. I am a previous Chef and now a Health Inspector so I am not sure why I was surprised. 15 lbs is definitely a big bag of Oats. We put Oats in our smoothies every morning plus I enjoy baking with Oats but it will take some time for me to finish this bag. I made Oatmeal Cookies last night with these and they were delicious. I compared them to the organic Bobs Red Mill Oats we had on hand and they were visiblly a little darker in color which is interesting. I am loving these so far and will have to find some new ways to use Oats. It doesn't get much better than to be able to get a Farm Direct Organic Product though.
